What Goes Around Comes Around

I have opted for a monochromatic illustrative design as I think that the prevailing trend at the moment is for understated t-shirt prints that are striking in their simplicity. To me, the 'year of the dragon' t-shirt needs to be the perfect medium between a fashionable t-shirt and one that explicitly reflects the tiger brand. My illustration achieves this in an understated and novel style that communicates brand qualities inherent in tiger beer. The circular shape of the dragon reflects how the year of the dragon has recurred 23 years after 1988, and how this cycle is to continue.

My image is inspired by traditional Chinese dragon kites. It is a symbol for freedom, creativity, celebration and festival for the new year. Wear the tee, be the kite and ride the wind!

Tigon

Tigon is the half blooded progeny of a rare dragon/ tiger romance. The upper symbol in the composition means water referring to 2012 as the year of the water dragon. The ancient chinese symbol below simply says dragon. Born under this sign Tigon has the power to control water, bringing life, nourishment, growth, power and fluidity into the new year.

Cute and quirky, endearing and modern - the ancient dragon is brought to life again during its special year. So what does the dragon love? Why another dragon of course! And where better to keep her happy and safe? In her keep under the watchful eye of the tiger! This is a design that makes you look take a second look – and smile!

Dragon on Tiger

The design is bold, simple strong and memorable with a central theme of the Chinese Year of the Dragon being very obvious. It uses a basic palette taken from the Tiger beer logo and advertising which acts as an immediate reminder and link to the branding. Elements from the Tiger logo have also been stylised and used creating a striking background design with balance and energy. The dragon emerges from dissected circles of colour reminiscent of an ancient sundial, linking to the concept of a calendar. The overall effect is striking but still very easy to reproduce on a t-shirt.

Unleashed

The idea behind my design emphasizes the strength and power behind Chinese dragons. It is deliberately rugged to back up the strength idea yet it is also simplified in a way that it clearly identifies the dragon as the dominate image. The big blob in the beginning symbolizes the idea that Chinese dragons have the ability to disappear and reappear in a flash, and the floral patterns as well as the word "good Fortune" but in Chinese reflects the Chinese contemporary art. The reason why I specifically choose the color red and black is due to the fact that those colors correspond together as well as symbolize power, I also want to restrict the colors I use to make the design that much simple.

Love the beer - get a tee

To distinguish the true 'fan' from the rest is to see whether or not they 'got the tee'. Be they a fan of sports, music or a favourite ale, the proof is in what they wear. What better exponent of the 'Tiger Beer fan' in 2012 than to see a dominant and passionate 'Tiger Dragon' display with confidence and poise an example of his 'Tiger tee'.

Turning Heads Since 88

i was born in the Year of the Dragon. Dragons usually are associated with Reign and Power. Dragons are attracted by the bizarre. No self-respecting Dragon desires to walk in a tourist's footsteps. Instead Dragons need thrills, which they find with new expeirences. Dont Hide.. dont be a mask. dont wander the world with a scar on your face of shame. UNLEASH YOUR TRUE DRAGON.
